When we decoct - or boil down -- all the priorities of life into the truly "vital," a word which comes from the Latin root meaning "life," there are only two things so precious.

Air is one; water is the other. The only two resources we cannot survive long without, yet we all tend to rob ourselves more than our enemies do, by not taking in more of these two precious goodies, by purloining our access to these sweetest of all treasures. (Should you think thatís exaggeration, go five three full minutes without oxygen or spend one full day in the desert without water, and letís see how sweet these treasures taste at that point, hmm?)

Eighty or more percent of us persist in breathing too little, although breathing is one of the two fastest shortcuts to superior health; superior balance of emotions and body.

The considerations are health, and pleasure. To function and thrive, the brain requires only two nutrients: small amounts of glucose, and large amounts of oxygen. The pleasure is in robust health, correct?

The fact that we require oxygen on a never-ending basis teaches us that taking in more of that oxygen can only provide benefit. The immune system; the healing factors in the blood; the carbon dioxide exchange; muscle and tissue function; the increase in both speed and quality of creative response -- and don't forget that more oxygen means a higher and more efficient level of brain function -- all add up to powerful reasons to get more oxygen. Personally, there is far too much evidence to indicate that better breathing and more fresh water will prevent many problems from interfering, problems that too often end up with labels on them, nasty, heavy-duty terms. Considering that I've lived just a bit more than any individual at the FDA, and have inarguably read more books than all one hundred of the top decision-makers at the FDA (all combined together they may have read as many as 5,000 books, although it's unlikely they have read that much. Either way, I have the good fortune to read five thousand books every ten years or less, so my lifetime total must vastly outreach the total of everyone in the Exec offices of the FDA combined. I do not merely think; I've seen and experienced enough evidence over the past few decades to state with certainty my ineluctable belief that providing your body with it's absolutely unavoidable essentials will make a difference in as little as a single day.

Learn here about breathing properly: Breathe all the way out. When you think your lungs are empty, there are generally at least two quarts of dirty and notably old air in the bottom of your lungs; keep pushing. Bend your knees if you need to; just push out all the air from your lungs. When they're finally empty, don't inhale just yet, because there is STILL more room for you to exhale a bit more. The more you exhale, the more garbage you're cleaning out of your lungs from as far back as several years ago.

No joke: you have some three hundred - put this in your pipe and smoke it - three hundred million highly sophisticated sacs in each lung. There is dirt and unpleasantness deep in those lungs, and breathing all the way is a HUGE step to creating a natural balance of energy and zip which breathing alone can stimulate.

No doctor or scientist will or can argue or seek to refute the fact that a proper double-lungful of air provides DOZENS of separate body systems and organs with an identifiably immediate boost in efficiency. Again, it means emptying your lungs far past when you'd swear they're empty. When that final last layer of exhaling finally arrives, go ahead and suck in a a nice big fat breath of fresh air through your nose. Even if you live in a city (outside of several California metropolitan areas and the entire state of North Carolina, thanks to tens and tens of millions of gallons of untreated hog sewage being released into the local environment on a never-ending basis), that air outside you thought was so dirty is, in reality, much better than the air in your house, ninety=eight times out of a hundred.

Just as tap water as a rule is far cleaner than the majority of bottled waters sold in America, so too is the underrated value of fresh air contributing measurably to the pitiful state of health enjoyed (suffered) by the typical and overweight human beings living in the U.S.
